Australia shares set to open lower, NZ down
Australian shares are set to open lower
on Thursday, tracking declines on Wall Street as the mounting
death toll from coronavirus in the U.S. is likely to spur a
retreat in the markets.
The local share price index futures fell 3.2%, a
203.6-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index
close. The benchmark rose 3.6% on Wednesday.
New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index fell 1.3%
in early trade.
