Australian shares eye higher open, NZ up
Australian shares were set for a stronger
open on Tuesday, tracking gains in Wall Street as optimism over
U.S.-China trade talks propped up global equities.
The local share price index futures rose 0.3% or 20
points to 6,639.0, a 13.5-point discount to the underlying
S&P/ASX 200 index close. The benchmark ended flat on
Monday.
New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index rose
slightly in early trade.
